Overview: 
Align Social Impact is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Human Resources and Operations Manager to provide strategic guidance and support in the areas of operations, and human resources as it scales up its internal infrastructure and staffing to support its long-term vision. Reporting to the Operations Director, the Human Resources and Operations Manager will play a critical role in ensuring the efficiency, effectiveness, and compliance of our organizational processes.

About this Role:
The selected candidate will undertake the following deliverables in partnership with Align and its team:

Operations:
  • Assess and optimize existing organizational processes and workflows.
  • Develop and implement new operational policies and procedures.
  • Identify areas for operational improvement for the organization and recommend solutions with clear tactics and processes.
  • Streamline administrative and operational functions to set larger teams up for success.
  • Evaluate and ensure all existing and new company policies comply with legal and regulatory requirements, and operational best practices.
  • Employee Credit Card Reconciliation.
  • Company Expenses - business and travel expenses.

Human Resources:
  • Approving Employee Time Cards to ensure payroll is sent on time.
  • Receiving, filing and paying Contractor Invoices.
  • Support the HR Consultant to assess Align’s existing HR policies, procedures, and practices, and develop and oversee the implementation of any newly created processes.
  • Manage recruitment and onboarding processes, which may include developing job descriptions, sourcing candidates, organizing interview processes, and more. Establish a process for employee performance management.
  • Create a plan for professional development opportunities for employees.
  • Ensure compliance with employment laws and regulations.
  • Provide guidance on HR-related matters and employee relations as needed to the Executive Director and leadership team.
  • Onboarding and offboarding procedures for employees.

Qualifications:
  • A bachelor's degree in human resources, finance, business administration, or a related field is required. An MBA or relevant professional certifications are preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in finance, operations, and HR roles, preferably in the nonprofit sector.
  • Experience in operational process improvement and project management.
  • Knowledge of HR best practices and employment laws.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.

More Details:
  • Reports to the Operations Director.
  • Part-time contract-to-hire (4 months), up to 20 hours per week. 
  • Hybrid—remote 90% with two days per month in NYC office required.
  • Hourly rate $25 - $30.
  • Estimated 25% travel required.
  • Must be authorized for employment in the United States.
